F is for fireworks. Here are some activities to do with your preschoolers if your letter of the week is the letter Ff.
Each week at Little Learners Papillion Preschool, we focus on one letter. All these preschool activities support our LEARNERS acronym for preschool learning.
F for Fireworks Weekly Check-In🌈
This is the weekly check-in sheet we used for “F for Fireworks” week. Some of the preschool activities were specific to the time of year, such as the fourth of July. Some are skills we were working on at the time such as telling a friend, “good job!” Feel free to use what works for you and your preschooler.

F is for Fireworks YouTube Playlist
This playlist has a mix of letter f phonics videos, videos of fireworks, read aloud books on fireworks, and other fun videos for preschoolers such as a Kidz Bop version of Katy Perry’s Firework.

Activities with Light💡
With the theme of fireworks, we used a lot of toys with lights.
I used these light up pool balls from Target. The cool thing about these is that you hit them and they stay lit up for awhile.
We also used these spiky light up balls from Target. They don’t stay lit up for as long, but they have a cool texture and looks a bit like a firework if you squint. You can find a similar spiky light up ball here.
Fireworks Salt Painting
This fun fireworks salt painting activity for the letter Ff is pretty fun. Students use glue to make a fireworks design and then you sprinkle salt on top of it. Once that all dries, use watercolor paint to dab color onto each line. The salt absorbs the paint slowly, so it looks like the firework is exploding in front of your eyes.
It does take some time to dry the glue/salt. I also learned you really need to load their brush with water. So keep that in mind if you try this preschool activity at home.
